 The one who is still in the middle of this and juggling to be in the game no matter what.

It looked fancy and easy to me the moment I started to think of getting my ideas and perspectives online.

I had so many of them twirling in my mind, thinking that I had so much and so much different to put on the table.

 

When I started

I made the plunge and started to build my brand online, laying brick by brick all by myself.

But building online would come with its concomitant stress, anxiety and brainstorming, I was completely clueless about.

I did not assume it an easy game but not that hard as well.

Getting slowly into the Process, I was exposed to countless emotions on my way. Some made me excited and most of them shuddered at me with the fear of falling flat on my face.

The reality check got me introduced to the racing online world.

Someone as if calling out to me, they are all unique so you will have to come up with brilliant.

I saw that the internet was already flooded, and I was trying to push on with the belief that my ideas will shake them, resonate with them and bring an impact.

No matter how crowded it was, I believed the right audience would spot me right away.

Well, things started, and it was only 20 per cent of what I had imagined that was changing into reality.

The rest 80 per cent was turning into a Dream.

Nothing moved as I expected. 

I thought ideas were enough. 

But then I landed up to these new terms, marketing, social media strategies, Search engine optimization, click-bait headlines and much more.

I found to make an impact; I will have to come up with the best.

And I started to look into every nook and cranny of the online world to test and try what could work best for me.

Worked on all possible strategies but not all of them worked for me.

There were many who had built their brand name online. All I had was to see what they did, follow how they did and walk their footprints without losing my uniqueness.

Building online is not about getting Viral, it is about becoming Vital.

 

5 Reality Checks I got while building my Brand Online

 

Your ideas and your perspectives will not be liked by everyone.  


 They might not be vocal about the dislike but the engagement with your content will tell all. 

 

Not all of your ideas will receive equal appreciation. 


You will have to make peace with the fact that you will not be appreciated for everything that you will be coming up with. They will only like the work that they will resonate with.

 

Why would they give you their time? 


The audience is not dimwitted, it is witty rather. 

 They might not be creators, but they know who is creating binge-worthy content.

They want to be healed, entertained and motivated in the best way. If you aren’t able to solve their problem in the best and easiest way, they will not afford to give you, their time.

 

Why would they choose only you over others? 


They have countless options to choose from so why they would only choose you. I asked this to myself too.

They are not short of information. It’s scattered all over the internet. Even if they find you, why would they stick around you?

 

If your Audience is not getting the profit, you will get none. 


 Your content is not fertile if it’s not making a beautiful garden for your audience.

Having been hit by these Reality Checks, I heard a voice inside me saying ..

It was fascinating to be a part of it, but the reality is altogether different.

Not that it is bad, Not at all.

But what people see on the surface is an effortless and beautiful side and what lies beneath are endless efforts.

The best cuisine does not take time to get prepared, but it takes an age to make the cook, a chef first.

And now that you are reading it, you are someone battling with these reality checks.  Iam sure by the time you reach the end of this post, you will feel unburdened and confident to continue working on your brand.

 

If you are someone who has been hit with the fear of not succeeding online and feel somewhere lost in the crowd, the crowd that you dreamt of as your audience, I’m here to pump you with things that will help you cope with plummeting stats of your online empire.

So, what’s the most important thing to understand before you see yourself as the King or Queen here?

A beautiful line that one of the great poets Adam Roa shared on his Instagram page was enough to start my creative journey without falling flat on my face and this is what is going to be my Rule number one.

“You’ll get more followers when you stop trying to get more followers and start focusing on delivering more value to the ones you already have” ~ Adam Roa

Online stardom is iconic but the hustle that it demands is like climbing that tallest cliff.

I can sense that drooping motivation, those changing electrocardiogram signals while you are on your way to building the online empire.

 I’m somewhere close to it.

Well, although I have just started with my journey, I have been successful to be at peace with my pace.

 

10 effective mind shifts to cope with the fear of not succeeding online 

 

You are enough to bring out the best, but you haven’t given your best

 Rather than feeling rejected or low, divert your attention to finding out:

  • What is not working? 
  • What you need to do extra?
  • Don’t find flaws, find reasons for not getting results!
  • Assess your work like you are your first audience.

You have everything in you to succeed but you haven’t done everything that is required to succeed. 

Rather than getting frustrated, Search for those who did wonders in your niche and see everything that they did. Their trajectory will not give you a direct path, but it will help you understand the process.

 

The rejections are not failures, they are the signals that you have more unexplored creativity

If day 1 becomes your online success, you would anticipate it as your best performance.

And that’s when growth stagnates.

When things don’t work for you, you start working for things and that’s how true potential is explored.

Things that come easy to you, leave massive room for potential. You assume it to be the maximum potential which in reality is still not explored.

 

You are not having high competition; you are surrounded by many participants 

You are overwhelmed not by the Competitors but by the crowd.

More than half of your competitors are mere participants who just contribute to scaring you with their numbers. 

Yes, there does exist competition.

But what you assume in your head is far different from what it is in reality. 

You see the crowd, without getting to a deeper level to understand who your competition is and how much is your competition.

You anticipate everyone around is your competitor, and this mere thought becomes a destroying tool that keeps sabotaging your belief system to achieve your goals.

What it sums up to is:

The biggest thing that hinders your growth is not the competition you anticipate, but the dampening belief system that this false picture of competition creates.

 

Don’t avoid speaking the bitter truth

It’s fine to have some people not align with your perspectives. That’s how you will find your true audience.

You are not here to please anyone; you are here to make an Impact. When you have a voice, it is not going to echo with all who hear it. And that’s when you will understand who your real audience is.

 

Not getting attention ≠ losing attention

People who are not buying your brand do not confirm that they are rejecting it. They are simply not resonating with it.

Your brand is not average, your work on the brand is average because if you haven’t discovered your audience, you still have not walked enough.

Your ideas are not bad but your creativity is not intriguing 

Do not underestimate your ideas or your perspectives. There is an audience for every brand but there is no audience for an average performance.

What you need to work on is your creativity and your performance without fidgeting with your ideas.

Your average idea can spark a light if it’s served the best way.

 

Building in public might shake yourself-esteem but build it anyhow as self-esteem is repairable

You are an amateur and you will not be a professional overnight. 

You will have to show your work at every stage because it’s the audience that will decide how good your brand is building.

If today your brand makes zero impact, your self-esteem might put you down to even not let you start over again.

But the reality is, your audience can rebuild your self-esteem but if you quit, there will be no one to build your brand.

 

Take charge of your brand, the audience will take charge of your success.

 

Let followers leave you, remember they won’t add any value to your brand if they are not aligning with your values

You are not here to hoard numbers; you are building a community.

And a community is not built with viral stuff, it needs Vital Content to shape it into a brand.

The number is a myth.

The reality is engagement.

Your brand value is not with the number of followers you have but with the level of engagement, you see in your work.

 

You do not grow if it rains on all days

You have found your seed, and now you have to find the right way to grow it into a Tree.

It grows when it gets optimum conditions. Excess of anything can destroy the seed even before it has spread its roots.

Let your graph of growth Plummet after a happy hike, that’s how the solid foundation of your brand is built.

Getting viral content on all days is not going to help the seed grow. You will assume it has already grown and keep you in the delusion of success.

 

If it’s not working does not mean it will not work, it simply means you need to work more on it 

Online success is not like fetching a job, it is like owning a company. The bigger the goal, the more will be the work.

When things don’t work, they do not signal you to stop working on them, they rather are telling you to find better and effective ways to make things work.

 

These Mind Shifts are not the steps that will escalate your progress, they will escalate your dedication and perseverance to make the Progress.
