Evolve and Elevate: Joy for other’s Success,
Who will understand Bhagavad Gita the most
and power of belief system
Idea of the Week
“In English, we have the words ’empathy’ and ‘compassion’ to express our ability to feel the pain that others suffer.
But we don’t have a word for experiencing vicarious joy—joy on behalf of other people.
Perhaps this is a sign that we all need to work on it.
Mudita is the principle of taking sympathetic or unselfish joy in the good fortune of others.
If I only find joy in my own successes, I’m limiting my joy.
But if I can take pleasure in the successes of my friends and family—ten, twenty, fifty people! —I get to experience fifty times the happiness and joy.
Who doesn’t want that?”

Lesson of the Week
Bhagavad Gita says:
Lord Krishna is conveying to Arjuna that Bhagavad Gita was narrated for the first time to Surya Dev (The Lord Sun also known as Vivasvan), which He further conveyed to Manu (Son of Vivasvan and also said to be the first man on the Earth as per Hindu Mythology) and then Manu narrated it to Ikshvaku (Son of Manu).
But during this transfer of the big secret of life, from one to another, its real meaning and essence got lost.
So, it could not reach in its entirety.
The wise words got fabricated and Bhagavad Gita lost its trueness and authenticity.
So, now Lord Krishna is narrating it again to Arjuna in the Battlefield of Mahabharata as he is His Param Bhakt. (Great Devotee)
Lord Krishna wanted to make Arjuna as a complete and proven source of Bhagavad Gita’s wisdom.
And as Arjuna is a Bhakt of Lord Krishna, he has been chosen to receive this immense and greatest knowledge of Bhagavad Gita.
So, the person who has the Gunas (attributes) like that of Arjuna, only he/she will understand Bhagavad Gita in the best way.
The point is: A Bhakt (Devotee) has to be in a close-knit relationship with God.
The moment one becomes the Bhakt of God, he is blessed with a direct relationship with God.
The relationship of a Bhakt (Devotee) with God is of 5 different types:
- One can be a Bhakt in Nish kriya Avastha (inactive state).
- One can be a Bhakt in Sakriya Avastha (active state).
- One can be a Bhakt in the form of a friend.
- One can be a Bhakt in the form of Parents.
- One can be a Bhakt in the form of a lover or life partner.
Now this relationship of a Bhakt with God is activated only after a dedicated Bhakti.
Arjuna’s relationship with Lord Krishna was in the form of a friend.
This friendship cannot be compared with the one of Bhautik Jagat (Physical world).
This is divine friendship which is not possible for everyone to have.
We all have a relationship with God, but it is activated only if we practice Bhakti (devotional worship directed to the Supreme)
But in the present time, we have not only forgotten God but forgotten the Shashvat (that lasts forever) relationship with God as well.
Relationship of every creature with God is called SWAROOP.
And it is only with Bhakti, this Swaroop can be awakened.
And then it is called Swaroop Siddhi.
(The perfection of one’s Eternal relationship with the Supreme Lord).
Inspiration of the Week:
The 10-second barrier
Your belief system makes you who you want to become.
And this is proven by this dramatic example of a 10-second barrier story.
The 10-second barrier is the physical and psychological barrier of completing a 100-meter sprint in under 10 seconds.
For the longest time, the belief system was that it was impossible for a human to sprint 100m in less than 10 Seconds.
The achievement of the 10 second barrier is regarded as the hallmark of a world class sprinter.
But in the October 1968 Mexico Olympic games, Jim Hines was the first man to break the 10 second barrier by making a record of 9.8 seconds.
The big thing was not that Jim broke it, but once he did, many others did too.
He did not break the 10-second barrier, he rather broke the mind barrier and showed the World it was possible.
And once one man achieved it, it became easier for others to believe in the possibility of breaking it.
He dismissed the preconceived notion of impossibility to break the 10-second barrier.
Today, around 187 men have broken the 10-second barrier.
The current men’s world record holder is Usain Bolt, who ran a 9.58 at the 2009 IAAF World Championship competition.
Its significance has become less important since the late 1990s, as an increasing number of runners have surpassed the 10-seconds mark.
What you need the most is not the talent or intelligence, it’s your belief system that makes you achieve things.
